Even The Winds and the Waves Obey Him

The website listed below sends me occasional emails. Sometimes they arrive at the most opportune times. Today I was very stressed, and these words helped me a lot:

Life gets so hard we can hardly stand it. Sometimes it seems like the problem it too much to bear. The storm is so bad you know you can’t handle it and you will be swept away to your death. The storm might be financial, a relationship, a sickness or some other horrible catastrophe. The storm seems so big that you know you can’t handle it. The pain is too much. The power too strong. You are all alone against the impossible burden.

But there is one who the winds and the waves obey. He is so powerful that no matter what the problem it is never to much for him. So when you are in your weakest moments, when everything is completely dark, when the storm winds blow, when everyone deserts you. Know that your Father is with you. And nothing in heaven or hell can take you away from him. He will protect you from your greatest fear.

Jesus Calms the Storm

Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Let the storms blow and know you are safe.
